Ideation, Creation & Everything In Between

VR Production Pipeline

A good place to start when we are thinking about possibly using Virtual Reality to create something would be what does this involve and how does the production pipeline for creating virtual reality look. I had a look into this and discovered that the process works a little something like this:

  • Ideation
  • Storyboard
  • Script
  • Casting
  • Location Scouting
  • Previs
  • Scheduling
  • Rehearsal
  • Set Building
  • Capture
  • 3D Editing
  • Sound editing
  • Environment Modelling
  • Augmentation
  • Interaction Design
  • Scripting
  • Rendering
  • Packaging
  • Publication
  • Patching

From this list there are a good few things that myself and my team are familiar with however for anything else we will need to reach out for help and interview other people that work with VR (Virtual Reality) in order to get direction on what we need to do. We are going to need a good bit of help for this project as it is so ambitious so now is the time to do that and throughout the project as we progress.
